Struggling after discharge? Where to get free mental health help

The short answer

If you're having a hard time after discharge, you're not alone, and there's free help. You can call Nefesh Achat now (*8944, any hour, anonymous) or ERAN (1201). For proper therapy, the Ministry of Defense's Amit program gives up to 12 free sessions.

Free therapy: the Amit program

Up to 12 therapy sessions (alone or as a couple), plus yoga, sports, workshops and self-help apps. For released soldiers with a Gold or Silver honorable discharge, and combat reservists with 50+ days since October 7, 2023. Reservists abroad can get therapy online. You can use it until December 31, 2027.
