Tax credit points for released soldiers

Last checked: October 2026. Amounts change, so always confirm with the official source.

The short answer

If you served 23 months or more (22 for women), you get 2 extra tax credit points every month for 3 years. If you served at least a year, you get 1 point. That's up to about ₪484 less tax a month.

What to do

Fill out Form 101 at every new job, and attach your discharge certificate.

How to check it's working

Look at your payslip. The credit points should show on it. If they don't, ask payroll.

Who it helps

Only people who earn enough to pay income tax. The higher your salary, the closer you get to the full saving.

Common questions

I forgot to fill out Form 101. Did I lose the money?

Not necessarily. You can update your employer now, and you can usually ask for a tax refund on what you overpaid. Check with the Tax Authority.
