The short answerIf your registered address was in the Negev, the Galilee or another national priority area for 5 of the 6 years before you start, your first year of a bachelor's degree can be fully funded: up to ₪12,017 in 2025–26.
The conditions
- A registered address in the Negev, the Galilee or a national priority area, 5 of the 6 years before you start.
- Start within 5 years of discharge (10 for lone soldiers and active reservists).
- National-service graduates can qualify too.
- It can't be combined with other state funding for the same tuition.
How to register
In the Directorate's personal area. For 2025–26 the last day is October 31, 2026. This is for studies in the year that just ended (2025–26).

Common questions
Can I get both Mimadim and the free periphery year?
Not for the same tuition. It can't be combined with other state funding for the same tuition.
